Specific Responsibilities
  Develop home office engineering budgets and staff plans by working with the project teams
  Develop subconsultant budgets by working with the project teams
  Track actual weekly labour costs, and analyse data to ensure charges are within budget, and charges are correctly coded.  Make adjustments if necessary.
  Work with project team to ensure they understand charging procedures
  Develop and update labour budget graphs to monitor cost status
  Take part in the Change Management process to develop and price out deviations and bring to closure.
  Update cost reports with approved Change Management changes
  Support cost studies on as as-required basis
  Update and maintain FD Cost database for all JV costs
  Set-up, update and maintain CMS cost database
  Take part in forecasting of all project costs
  Analyse all information prepared and take action if required. Highlight any problem areas to the lead cost engineer

Principal Tasks

Administering the Contracts in their area of the project with respect to:-
��  Ensuring compliance with the terms and conditions of Contract;
��  Interface with Area Superintendents for all contractual matters and support services;
��  Monitor contractor for compliance with all contract deliverables;
��  Managing change and recording and obtaining authorisation in accordance with Project Change Management Procedures.

Position Description

The Group Engineering Manager is primarily responsible for the following activities within the project scope:
 Work processes for the production of the engineering deliverables
 The quality of the engineering deliverables
 Production of all engineering deliverables to the schedules set by each project including works undertaken in Perth and workshare offices.
 The management of engineering input data such as Vendor information, topographic survey, geotechnical investigations.
 The management of staffing levels in conjunction with each of the discipline design managers (material handling, civil, electrical and electrical and instrumentation groups).

Management of all engineering required for procurement of equipment across the projects. ( A specific team has been established to manage this area reporting to the group engineering manager).
Management of shop detailing effort - includes work which is contracted direct to FAST and also that work which is undertaken by D&C contracters and modularisation contracters. (A specific team manages this area reporting to the group engineering manager).

Coordination of infrastructure works which is undertaken across the projects - this work will be primarily carried out by the other engineering organisations reporting to FAST. FAST will coordinate this work and responsibilities include definition of work split and establishment of project criteria and standards.

The role also involves overall management of material handling engineering works undertaken in Perth and in the project's workshare offices including Santiago, Greenville and Manila.

Experience in working with iron ore material handling works is required, familiarity with carrying with modularisation and pre-assembly activities will also be considered an advantage.
