Position Description:
The Dredging Supervisors are responsible for the supervision of the dredging of approximately 8,000,000m3 of material from
The Dredging Supervisor, reporting to the Dredging Superintendent, shall be responsible for the monitoring and reporting of the day to day operations of the dredgers and supporting barges to ensure that the works are carried out in accordance with the Contract. The Dredging Supervisor will rotate across each item of plant employed by the Contractor throughout the Works.
The Dredging Supervisor is expected to be proactive in identifying opportunities for minimising standby, and is expected to demonstrate leadership and commitment in relation to the implementation of the Health, Safety, Environment and Community (HSEC) System, in accordance with the project procedures.
Principal Tasks:
The Dredging Supervisor supports the Dredging Superintendent on site in managing the works being undertaken in the field by the Contractor, with respect to:
- Interfacing with safety and environmental advisors to assist the dredging contractor in achieving compliance with HSEC procedures;
- Monitoring of dredging related activities to ensure compliance with applicable environmental approvals;
- Monitoring for Schedule and Cost Control;
- Coordinating with the Area Superintendents and Construction Supervisors to manage impacts on other activities;
- Interfacing with engineering staff for technical matters and support services;
- Liaison with the Dredging Superintendent, on all matters in the administration of the contract and the execution of the Works by the Contractor.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the implementation of all aspects of the Project Health, Safety and Environmental Management Systems
- Assist in ensuring that relevant contractors and personnel adhere to the applicable requirements of the HSEC System
- Conduct regular inspections of dredging and related equipment to ensure compliance with HSEC requirements
- Assist the Dredging Superintendent to ensure contract and project objectives are achieved or exceeded.
- Maintain a daily record of the contractors works and all activities, actions, delays, disruptions, issues, etc., in a centralised form
- Assist in ensuring contractors are working to the latest revisions of the Drawings, Specifications and HSEC procedures.
- Assist in ensuring site entry requirements for plant, equipment and people are adhered to, in respect of the conduct of the dredging works.
- Ensure required documentation relating to work on the contract is maintained.
- Conform with the requirements included in the Project Execution Plan for communication with contractors and site administration issues.
- Assist with maintaining detailed records of contractors progress against schedule and review with the Dredging Superintendent, Construction Manager and the Area Project Engineer, Dredging, measures necessary to ensure compliance with the project implementation schedule.
- Report daily on progress, material deliveries, number and type of contractors men and equipment, design errors and shortages encountered and difficulties experienced.
- Assist in ensuring that the contractor is carrying out all work which will enable the contractors schedule and milestone deliveries to be accomplished.
- Assist the Dredging Superintendent with the preparation of reports on progress of the work and general site issues.
- Ensure compliance with the Mines Safety & Inspection Act 1994 by all personnel on site.
- Carry out instructions or directions given by the Registered Mine Manager to ensure compliance with the Mines Safety & Inspection Act 1994
- Attend the kick-off and weekly progress meetings with contractors as required.
- Confirm and counter signing contractors daily work records including records of standby.
- Assist in the assessment of the site content of claims made by contractors,
- Attempt to pre-empt problems to the progress or performance of work and recommend strategies to overcome any delay.
- Provide all reasonable assistance and cooperation to facilitate contractors in the execution of their work.
In addition to these Duties and Responsibilities, the Dredging Supervisor shall at all times:

Position Description
The Supervisors role is to provide support to the Area Superintendent through the provision of field supervision, planning, quality management, coordination and construction management capabilities. The Supervisor must demonstrate leadership and commitment in relation to the implementation of the HSEC Procedures.

Assist managing the Contractors working in their area of the project with respect to:-
HSEC Procedures implementation;

Assist in compiling the Area Superintendent weekly report on the progress of each work area.
Attend the daily pre-starts and weekly meetings with contractors.
Assist in co-ordinating with BHPBIO Operations to facilitate minimum interruption to railings whilst maximising the opportunity to carry out Works.
Assist Contractors in the preparation and approval process for Permits required to do the Works
Assist in the formal inspections and punch lists to be prepared during the period leading to completion of individual contracts.
Coordinate with construction personnel, contractors, statutory authorities, client etc. to arrange operational shutdowns, relocations or tie-ins to existing plant and services.
Regularly review the current delivery dates of all equipment and report immediately where dates are unsuitable for site progress or deliveries are falling behind schedule.
Continually review construction drawings for adequacy, completeness, interfaces etc. Report any deficiencies or shortcomings to the Area Superintendent
In conjunction with the Area Superintendent maintain good relations with statutory authorities, local companies adjacent to the site and client representatives.
Assist in the preparation of enquiries for additional work, in particular the technical specification.
Where works are carried out at hourly rates, assist in ensuring that extra claim sheets are correct in accordance with procedures and approved on a daily basis.
Assist to arrange, if directed, that all survey checks are carried out as required.
Coordinate vendor inspections of contractors work.
Assist in commissioning duties as and when required.
Assist in supervision of any extra works by contractors and preparation documentation verifying completion of the work and counter sign contractors hourly works time sheets.

Provide all reasonable assistance and cooperation to contractors in the execution of their work.

Identify and coordinate any training needs on the Project site
Provide accurate and timely reports to the Construction Manager as requested
Maintain and make available records to demonstrate compliance with the Environmental Procedures during audits.
Supervise, direct and coach all project staff of their respective roles in complying with Environmental Management Plan
Actively participate in and support Incident and Injury Free culture
Support and participate in the Behaviour Based Coaching of managers, supervisors and contractors on the Project site.
On a weekly basis, conduct a minimum of one paired Behaviour Based Coaching observation.
Document the Behaviour Based Coaching observation using the Behaviour Based Coaching Activity Board.
Comply with and meet Behaviour Based Coaching quality requirements.
Monitor the quality and frequency of behavioural observations by the Environment Site Based Team. Where deficiencies are noted, put in place improvement initiatives.
Develop, review and provide guidance for the implementation of Emergency plans and procedures for the site
Review and recommend changes to the Project EMP and Management Plan as needed.
Report weekly to the Construction Manager the Environmental performance on each work area.
Attend HSEC meetings with the Contractors and employees to discuss health, safety, environment and community issues

The Project Manager Infrastructure is responsible for co-ordinating and overseeing all the project components to ensure achievement of the Project objectives and KPIs and completion in accordance with HSEC, time, cost and quality objectives.
The Project Manager will devote 100% of their efforts to directing the success of the project and is responsible for the management of engineering, design, fabrication, installation, commissioning, quality, health and safety, finance and administration, and cost and schedule activities in this area.
The Project Manager is to maintain effective interfaces with the Owners Team throughout the life of the project and support the development of the project personnel.

Assist managing the Contractors working in their area of the project with respect to:-

Interface with Safety and Environmental Advisors to assist Contractors in achieving compliance;

Coordinate with Area Project Engineers and Supervisors to manage impact on other activities;
Interface with engineering staff for technical matters and support services;
Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with the current revisions of the Contract Drawings, Technical Specifications and all other relevant documentation.
Ensure Contractor compliance with the Quality Management Plan;
Interface and support the Contracts Administrator to resolve contractual issues;
Managing change and recording and obtaining authorisation in accordance with Project Change Management Procedures.

JHA and Take 5 Auditing for Quality, task specific and compliance.
Ensure that relevant contractors and personnel comply with the applicable requirements of the HSEC Procedures.
Ensure compliance with the Mines Safety & Inspection Act 1994 by all personnel on site
Carry out instructions or directions given by the Registered Mine Manager to ensure compliance with the Mines Safety & Inspection Act 1994
Actively participate in and support Incident and Injury Free culture (IIF)
Support and participate in Behaviour Based Coaching on the Project site
Assist the Area Project Engineer to direct and control the work of contractors to ensure contract and project objectives are achieved or exceeded.
Inspect the work under each contract daily and advise the contractor of any corrective actions needed as they occur.
Ensure contractors are working to the latest revisions of the Drawings and Specifications.
Ensure site entry requirements for plant, equipment and people are complied with.
Identify and obtain approvals for additional work outside the original contract/project scope of work prior to implementation.
Assist maintaining documentation relating to work within the contract.
Conform to the requirements included in the Project Procedures Manual for communication with contractors and site administration issues.
Assist with maintaining detailed records of contractors progress against schedule and review with the Area Superintendent measures necessary to ensure compliance with the project implementation schedule.
Ensure that all Quality requirements are being adhered to. Actively participate in quality inspections and sign off on Hold Points, Witness Points etc. where required.
Report daily on progress, material deliveries, number and type of contractors men and equipment, design errors and shortages encountered and difficulties experienced. Reports on progress must include for deficiencies in the Contractors management of his work where it had a direct impact on progress. Assist in ensuring that the contractor is carrying out work which will enable the contractors schedule and milestone deliveries to be accomplished.
Assist in compiling the Area Superintendent weekly report on the progress of each work area.
Attend the daily pre-starts and weekly meetings with contractors.
Assist in co-ordinating with BHPBIO Operations to facilitate minimum interruption to railings whilst maximising the opportunity to carry out Works.
Assist Contractors in the preparation and approval process for Permits required to do the Works
Assist in the formal inspections and punch lists to be prepared during the period leading to completion of individual contracts.
Coordinate with construction personnel, contractors, statutory authorities, client etc. to arrange operational shutdowns, relocations or tie-ins to existing plant and services.
Regularly review the current delivery dates of all equipment and report immediately where dates are unsuitable for site progress or deliveries are falling behind schedule.
Continually review construction drawings for adequacy, completeness, interfaces etc. Report any deficiencies or shortcomings to the Area Superintendent
In conjunction with the Area Superintendent maintain good relations with statutory authorities, local companies adjacent to the site and client representatives.
Assist in the preparation of enquiries for additional work, in particular the technical specification.
Where works are carried out at hourly rates, assist in ensuring that extra claim sheets are correct in accordance with procedures and approved on a daily basis.
Assist to arrange, if directed, that all survey checks are carried out as required.
Coordinate vendor inspections of contractors work.
Assist in commissioning duties as and when required.
Assist in supervision of any extra works by contractors and preparation documentation verifying completion of the work and counter sign contractors hourly works time sheets.
Assist with all queries, issues, changes etc. requested by contractors
Provide all reasonable assistance and cooperation to contractors in the execution of their work.
Review proposed and actual changes to project implementation and contractor schedules and report any concerns.
Pre-empt problems to the progress or performance of work and recommend strategies to overcome any delay.
Monitor resources employed by contractors including number and calibre of staff, manpower and equipment and make recommendation where deficiencies are found.
